THE TRICKS OF THE TRADE: METAL WORK

METAL MACHINERY AND THE DANGERS

GETTING YOUR HANDS DIRTY: WOODWORKING

WOODWORKING TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

Metal Work is an elective which introduces students to welding and engineering, developing practical skills which will help immensely if the student is looking to get into the trade later in life.

Woodworking is important from the get-go, right when it's introduced to the fresh grade 8's, as it allows students to apply all the skills they've learned both in said class as well as their other courses like geometry, chemistry, and physics.

There are many different types of machinery in the metal room to mold, cut, weld, and shine metal pieces which are potentially dangerous! Metal is hard to work with, which is where the gadgets come in handy to get the job done.

The Woodshop is a unique course, and a quite interesting one to teach. Here at Palmer, there are two Wood & Metal Work teachers, one of which shares his opinions on how to teach a course like Woodworking.
