Music, a broad term, is incredibly versatile. The many different genres create different atmospheres and invoke different feelings from all listeners. There are subcultures that derive from these genres, who are extremely passionate about how they feel when talking about their preferred style of music because of how much it resonates with them. Artists often stick to one genre when creating music, unintentionally making an organized chaos within all the different genres of music.
There are also so many instruments and even various versions of the same instrument made specifically to create a unique sound. Many people are drawn to the guitar because of its different variations in style as well as the difficulty of playing the instrument.

As well as guitar, piano is a popular option because of its ability to convey different moods with just the amount of vigour you play it with, and its melodic sound.

Grade 10 Band student Timmy
Timmy, a Grade 10 Band student was interviewed on why he chose to pursue music in school. "Music isn't really as a 'subject' in my life," he responded, as he also mentioned that he's been playing since 2013, even before it was an option in school to him. He continues on by saying "If there's a choice between [music] and something else, I will always choose music." Music has impacted his life largely by taking on a journey of discovery and passion, and he feels spurred to play to further improve on his path to becoming a musician.
This showcases the process of how many musicians get into the art, from a very early start of a random occurrence, people get enveloped in the beauty of playing an instrument and its sound. They become extremely passionate and moved by the pull of its satisfying melodiousness as well as how gratifying it is to see the improvement of their own sound as they play more and more.

Music teacher, Ms. Chen
Ms. Chen, the music teacher, was also interviewed. She detailed how music became immensely important to her because of her extremely passionate music teacher in the eighth grade, forever impacting her as she says it's now the only thing she wants to do for the rest of her life.
The thing that drives musicians is pure admiration for the art, the raw excitement that comes from hearing the notes, rhythms, harmonies, as a whole, it's to touch people and make them feel the incredible vulnerability of the human condition. This is why it moves people, this is why it creates a lasting impact in our society no matter what generation experiences it. It's one of the now basic joys of human life, and that is what the moving nature of music is.
